Heat Pump Service & Installation

One system for both seasons — sized for Texas summers and Texas freezes.

What's actually involved

A heat pump is simply an air conditioner that can run in reverse, and in the North Texas climate that makes it an unusually good fit — it does the heavy summer cooling work and covers most winter days without burning any gas at all.

The catch is what happens in a hard freeze. We size and configure systems for that case specifically, which usually means a dual-fuel setup where the furnace takes over below a chosen balance point.

Manual J sizing

Calculated for both cooling load and heating load, which are different numbers.

Balance point configuration

The outdoor temperature where backup heat takes over, set deliberately rather than left at a factory default.

Dual-fuel or all-electric

We model the running cost of both against local utility rates before you choose.

Federal tax credit paperwork

Qualifying systems earn a 25C tax credit. We give you the documentation your accountant needs.

Defrost cycle verification

Tested in operation, not assumed — the most common source of heat pump complaints.

10-year parts warranty

Registered in your name, plus our 10-year labour guarantee.

How the job runs

  1. 01

    Load calculation and modelling

Heating and cooling loads calculated, then running costs compared against your current system.

  2. 02

    System design

Equipment, balance point and backup heat strategy chosen together and explained plainly.

  3. 03

    Permit and installation

Mechanical permit filed, installation completed in a day, inspection scheduled by us.

  4. 04

    Commissioning

Charge weighed in, airflow verified, defrost and staging tested through a full cycle.

Spread it over 36 months

Questions we get every week

Modern cold-climate units keep useful capacity well below freezing, and in a dual-fuel setup the furnace takes over beneath the balance point. The 2021 lesson was mostly about grid failure and unprotected pipes, not heat pump capability.
